Glace Bay Theatre: The Savoy’s Pandemic Pivot
COVID-19 meant many of the community hubs we depend on had to switch gears quickly and often, finding new ways to do what they love to do. With almost 800 seats and frequent events at full capacity, the Savoy made the difficult decision to close in March 2020.
Coldest Night of the Year
Donna was ready to make the most of the winter weather and in turn help Nova Scotians in need. She recruited her friend Jennifer, and together they walked 5 kilometres close to home.
Little Giants, Big Inspiration
Our Little Giants program ran for a successful third year thanks to Stacia and 101.9 The Giant in Cape Breton. We granted four kids with $250 and a certificate. They also chose a charity near and dear to them to receive a matching cheque.

To ease my fear as we got closer to the edge, our ropes trainer reassured us that we’d feel like pros before we got to the bottom. If we were to faint going down, he’d still be able to lower us and make sure we still looked cool!

It was both a way to recognize hard work and create new relationships. Even with masks on, you could tell people were smiling.
